1 large boiled and grated potato
1 chopped green chili
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 tsp cumin powder
Salt, to taste
1 tsp chaat masala
1/4 tsp garlic powder
2 tbsp rice flour
A handful of chopped coriander leaves
1 serving (approximately 6 poppers)
Prepare the Mixture:
In a mixing bowl, combine the grated potato, green chili, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin powder, salt, chaat masala, garlic powder, rice flour, and chopped coriander leaves. Mix well to form a dough-like consistency.
Shape the Poppers:
Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into small, smooth balls.
Cook in the Appe Patra:
Preheat an appe pan (appe patra) on low heat. Place the balls into the indentations of the pan. Cover with a lid and cook for 2 minutes.
Toss and Finish Cooking:
Carefully toss the balls to cook the other side. Cover again and cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until they are golden and slightly crispy on all sides.
Serve:
Serve hot with a side of mint chutney, yogurt, or enjoy as is for a delicious oil-free snack!
